Laborate Expands WHO-Prequalified Medicine Portfolio to 35 Export Markets
"Our WHO-prequalification achievements are not milestones in isolation — they are the direct result of decades of investment in systems, infrastructure, and talent that delivers pharmaceutical quality at international standards." — Managing Director, Laborate Pharmaceuticals India Ltd.
Laborate Pharmaceuticals India Ltd. has successfully expanded its WHO-prequalified medicine portfolio, achieving status for three additional essential medicine formulations manufactured at its Paonta Sahib, Himachal Pradesh facility. This expansion brings the total number of WHO-prequalified formulations in the Laborate portfolio to nine, enabling procurement by United Nations agencies, the Global Fund, and government procurement bodies across 35 countries.
The achievement follows a structured three-year programme of facility upgrades, quality system enhancements, and regulatory dossier submissions — carried out in partnership with the WHO Prequalification Programme under the sustained commitment of the company's quality and regulatory affairs leadership. The newly approved formulations span antimalarial, anti-infective, and essential analgesic therapeutic categories.
Laborate remains committed to making quality-assured medicines accessible across low- and middle-income markets, and views WHO prequalification as an affirmation of manufacturing standards that are built into the company's operational DNA — not merely achieved for regulatory purposes.
